Young Woman in a Red Dress by Debra Bennett

Come feel the lost highway vibe in this silky gem of a poem. We’ve all been that girl in the red dress sometime in our life.

Debra Bennett

Debra worked for many years as an Early Childhood Educator. She began writing poetry in her teens and twenties- and stopped for some decades, as she felt unable to reach the place that she wanted to with her poetry. Instead, she concentrated on fiction. Over the past years, she found herself writing poetry again. She has published poetry in various Canadian literary journals including The Capilano Review, The New Quarterly, West Coast Review. Recently, she has published her work in American publications. Debra lives on Salt Spring Island, B.C with her husband and, during the school year, with their granddaughter.
